Hello and welcome to my auction for my late Father's 1993 EZ-GO "Freedom" Golf Cart. It has had very little use in the last few years after he was forced to give up the game. Just last week, it had $1000 worth of service that included a fresh set of NEW batteries and a new solenoid. It is an old fashioned, high-torque but lower top speed cart that is more suitable for older or even younger users. It also comes with a few accessories that I have only seen in this combination ONCE!
It has a CDMA cell phone hardwired into the cart with a fixed cradle. This cart also has TWO, individually controlled, two-speed fans mounted on the inside of the roof. These were installed when we lived in Savannah where they were necessary as the only way to keep the "no-see-ums" from eating you alive. Now, while still very useful in mosquito control inside the cart, they are also very useful in keeping the passengers cool on the hottest of Florida days. It includes, two divot repair bottles full of seeded sand, as well as a bucket of the same divot repair sand in one of the two baskets mounted over the rear tires.
It also includes a functioning factory charger (with a broken amp meter) and a second charger that is more of a trickle-charge style charger. Finally, the distilled water dispensing bottle for the batteries is included. I apologize for ending the prior auction early but I have decided to donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the Cart to the Shriner's Hospital for Children. My late Father was a Shriner and even played the Triangle (very poorly) in the Oriental Band in the parades of Rockford IL many years ago. I had planned to donate to Shriner's Hospital directly from the Estate but I thought this would be more fun and hopefully induce Masonic interest and pride that he shared with his fellow Shriners.
To underscore that Shriner pride and goal to donate as much as possible, if the new owner decides to use the "Buy It Now" option, I will include his full black leather Burton Golf Bag with gold piping. It was a Birthday present from my late Mother and was the ABSOLUTE top-of-the-line offering during the 1980's and was called "The President", or "The CEO" or something like that. What I do remember was that in 1986-87, the bag cost nearly $1000. It comes with matching leather cover and I believe I still have the canvas travel cover for it. I believe it to be very rare, as it took a long time from ordering to delivery and I believe I have only seen one other like it, not surprisingly owned by a CEO of a Fortune 100 company.
There has been much interest in the Burton Bag, so I began the cleaning and polishing using Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner but it is not quite finished. Once I have a chance to buff it up, it will look almost new outside of some Cart-strap wear, but pictures are included of the now cleaned, polished but not yet buffed Burton bag. In conclusion, this means is that the new lucky owner of a recently serviced, top-shelf, fully-optioned EZ-GO Freedom Cart can ride just like Judge Smails, and feel justifiably superior to lesser mortals in doing so as they show their Masonic and Shriner pride! One last housekeeping point is that I will not sell to a buyer who does not either have a significant amount of positive feedback transactions on classifieds board, or who contacts me directly so that I may approve of their bid after confirming that they are able to pay for the cart if they are new to classifieds board. Fez not included..... Happy Bidding!
