Hello, welcome to the classifieds board listing for my late Father's 1993 EZ-GO "Freedom" Golf Cart. It has had very little use in the last few years after he was forced to give up the game and has recently had $1000 worth of service that included a fresh set of NEW batteries and a new solenoid (and yes, I can provide a receipt for the service). It is an old fashioned, high-torque but lower top speed cart which is more suitable for older, younger users or those golfers that have decided simply to enjoy the ride as well as the game. It also comes with a few accessories that I have only seen in this particular combination ONCE! It has a CDMA cell phone hardwired into the cart with a fixed cradle.
This cart also has TWO, individually controlled, two-speed fans mounted on the inside of the roof. These were installed when we lived in Savannah, where they were necessary as the only way to keep the "no-see-ums" from eating you alive. Now, while still very useful in mosquito control inside the cart, they are also particularly useful in keeping passengers cool on the hottest of Florida days. It includes most factory and dealer-installed EZ-GO options including: rain equipment, two divot repair bottles - full of seeded sand, as well as a bucket of the same divot repair sand in one of the two baskets mounted over the rear tires, horn, headlights, taillights, drink holders, locking glove boxes, and folding windshield. I have several sets of keys.
Finally, the distilled water dispensing bottle for the batteries is included. I apologize for ending the prior listings as I more recently decided to donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the Cart to the Shriner's Hospital for Children. My late Father was a Shriner and even played the Triangle (very poorly) in the Oriental Band in the parades of Rockford IL many years ago. I had planned to donate to Shriner's Hospital directly from his Estate but I thought this would be more fun and hopefully induce Masonic interest and pride that he shared with his fellow Shriners to maximize the donation, allowing both a charitable tax deduction for the entire amount of the sale for me, and the buyer would receive a charitable donation tax credit for any amount over Fair Market Value. To underscore that Shriner pride and goal to donate as much as possible, if the new owner decides to make an offer above $4000, I will include my late-Father's full top-grade, black leather Burton Golf Cart Bag with gold piping.
It was a Birthday present from my late Mother and was the ABSOLUTE top-of-the-line offering during the 1980's and was called "The President", or "The CEO" or perhaps even "The Emperor" but it is the ultimate expression of Burton craftsmanship and Burton's finest quality leather from that period. What I do remember was that in 1986-87, the bag was several times the price of regular Burton Golf Cart Bags. Which were not full leather bags. This bag comes with matching leather cover and I believe I still have the canvas travel cover for it. I also believe it to be very rare, as it took about 6 weeks from the time it was ordered until the time it was delivered.
I have only seen one other like it which was not surprisingly owned by a CEO of a Fortune 100 company. There has been much interest in the Burton Bag itself, so I began the cleaning and polishing using Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner but it is not quite finished. Once I have a chance to buff it up, it should look almost new outside of some Cart-strap wear, but pictures are included of the now cleaned, polished, but not yet buffed Burton bag. Pictures of bag completely cleaned, conditioned and polished will be forthcoming shortly. In conclusion, the new lucky owner of this recently serviced, top-shelf, fully and uniquely-optioned EZ-GO Freedom Cart can ride just like Judge Smails, and feel justifiably superior to lesser mortals in doing so as they show their Masonic and Shriner pride!
One last housekeeping point is that I will NOT SELL to any buyer who has not been part of classifieds board community for at least one year or who does not have a significant amount of positive feedback transactions on classifieds board. The potential buyer who fails to satisfy these requirements AND does not contact me directly so that I may approve their offer PRIOR to them making that offer will have any offer cancelled or ignored. And I refuse to entertain offers outside of classifieds board!!! This gift to the Shriner's Children's Hospital has now recently cost me $1200 in cart repair and listing fees, so please take it seriously because the reserve price increases by the amount of the listing fees incurred, each time I am forced to deal with those who refuse to abide by the terms of the listing. I am pleased to discuss this and any other issue with potential buyers prior to them making an offer so that they may be evaluated on their interest, sincerity and ability to pay.
I may be reached either through classifieds board or directly at phone. I have recently discovered original bill of sale which, included nearly $1000 worth of options, a sales brochure, and the owner's manual which will be included with the cart, as well as the original leatherette container for the phone. Fez not included..... Happy Bidding!
